Welcome to Misogynistan!

Fight the Real Enemy

Welcome to Misogynistan! - The LadyBugs fight for equal rights for women and girls in this episode.

It is an unfortunate truth that in many countries in this world, women are forced into a life of slavery - also know as marriage.  As girls they are unable to be educated and are forced to marry men who are chosen for them.  They cannot go out in public without covering themselves and without a male chaperone.  They are not allowed to drive. They are not able to have the freedoms we have here.

Next time you get your panties in a bunch because a male recording artist surrounds himself with pretty naked girls in his music video, be thankful that a woman can make a damn good living doing this and men celebrate them instead of stoning them to death.

A World Without Christmas

The LadyBugs Holiday Episode

I had this idea for a few years now.  I was going to write a spec script for American Dad and send it to festivals.  Then I decided to put all my ideas into my LadyBugs series.  Eric Gusky has a starring role in this episode and it was a pleasure to work with Lani Minella who does a great impression of Joan Rivers.  I'm glad I got this done before Christmas! Enjoy!

Menstruation - The LadyBugs new music video teaching girls about Menstruation!

A Short Blog From Dorothy Wallace

I recently flew to L.A. on Virgin America Airways.  Instead of having the flight attendant stand in the aisle demonstrating the safety procedures, we were asked to watch a video.  It was a music video with singers, rappers and dancers demonstrating the safety procedures.  It was probably the first time I paid attention.

With the same intention, here's an entertaining music video from The LadyBugs teaching girls about Menstruation.

Season Four of Meet The LadyBugs Begins

I'm very excited to be starting Season Four of "Meet The LadyBugs!"

The previous episodes from Seasons 1, 2 and 3 were written as a full length pilot and 2nd episode to submit to pilot competitions.  That didn't work out so this is the first Season I'm writing as a web series.  The full episodes are much shorter and easier to get up on a regular schedule.

We're starting off with a monthly talk show in which The LadyBugs nominate an honorary LadyBug of the month, tell someone to Bug Off, tell you what shows they are watching and answer viewer mail.

Make sure you post your comments and check out the new episode on Tuesday December 9th at http://www.MeetTheLadyBugs.com

Bullies - Season Finale "Meet The LadyBugs!"

The Season Three finale was just posted.  The LadyBugs perform in Liverpool at The Cavern Club.  It's a dream come true for these die hard Beatles fans except for one glitch.  There's another band called The LadyBugzzz playing and our girls have to perform as The Diddy Bugs.  Lots of celebrity cameos including bullying victims confronting their bullies.

Click Here to watch "Bullies" - Episode 3 of Season 3 "Meet The LadyBugs!"

The song, Bullies, was actually inspired by an episode of Dr. Laura on SiriusXM.  A listener wrote in with a story about a boy who was suspended from school because he saw a girl being bullied by a boy and walked over and punched the boy in the face.  The listener was proud of the kid and Dr. Laura chuckled about it.  I have to admit I'm on the fence.  Can bullies take what they dish out?  We'll never know if we just keep expecting other people to stick up for us. As a kid, I was a victim of bullying but I was also a bully.  I don't have children myself so this isn't an issue I need to deal with in my life as a parent.  Bullying is not something that goes away when you become an adult.  It's better to develop tools to deal with it when it happens.

Speaking of tools, I'm reading The Tools: 5 Tools to Help You Find Courage, Creativity, and Willpower - and inspire you to Live Life in Forward Motion by Phil Stutz and Barry Michels

It's a great book and has some great and easy to remember ideas about keeping your creative juices flowing and being your true authentic self.  I feel like my true authentic self when I'm immersed in the creative process... whether writing songs, scripts, comedy or creating animation.  It's all moving meditation.

Great news!  "Meet The LadyBugs!" is an official selection at the Miami Web Series Festival from October 2-5, 2014.  I'm looking forward to going to Miami for the first time..

 Other News
I've been writing songs for 30 years now.  I've never made a dime from it except for the $500 I got for being a contestant in the Howard Stern Show theme song contest.  That might change with my new dance tune Girls Night Out (No Boys Allowed)Studio Pros and Racquel did a great job on the recording. I've submitted it to some songwriting contests and pitches for various things.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

Until next time.

Hello again from Ruby Slipper Bunion Productions!

Pin The Handcuffs on the Pedophile!
The LadyBugs are back with Season 3 of the award winning animated web series, Meet The LadyBugs!  I am thrilled to announce that the series was picked up by YouTube's Channel Frederator Network.  The first episode of Season 3, Pin the Handcuffs on the Pedophile! was just released.  My goal is to release a new episode every 2 or 3 weeks.  I'll see how it goes.

Meet The LadyBugs! is also an official selection of the 2014 Los Angeles Web Series Festival from March 26th to 30th.  As soon as I have the schedule, I will let you know.

The LadyBugs new Music
Can you believe it's been 3 years since the album, Sugar is Poison, was released?  Well, new music is on it's way.  The first single, Bullies,  from new album, Broken Tiaras, was just released.  Inspired by an episode of Dr. Laura on SiriusXM radio, this song encourages kids to fight back.

The album will also contain songs about kid's pageants, Münchausen syndrome by proxy, menstruation, kidnapping, sexting, junk food and a cover of Everclear's song Wonderful, which deals with divorce from the point of view of the kids.

As you can imagine, I'm extremely busy.  I just updated the website www.theladybugsmusic.com so that it's easier to navigate.  Hopefully, it will inspire more understanding of this project that I'm so passionate about.

Until next time!
